Tell us a bit about your wedding! What inspired your choices?

Our wedding date is so special to us because June 5, 2024 was actually our 5 year anniversary of dating! We have so much family from out of town that we are close to, so we wanted our wedding to be a relaxed, fun, family get together. The flowers were colorful wildflowers with accents of white, gold champagne, and black!

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

My favorite part of the wedding day was obviously marrying my dream guy (: but one major highlight of the night was turning around and seeing the dance floor full of happy dancing kids… it brought tears to my eyes.

How did you and your partner meet?

Aj and I met when he was 18 and I was 16. I did gymnastics with his little sister, who was also one of my bridesmaids, and since we lived so close together we always carpooled and AJ was in the car most of the time! We are both silly and goofy people, so we hit it off with telling jokes and asking for each other’s numbers in Spanish haha!

Tell us the story of your proposal!

It was 2 days after Rosa’s birthday. Rosa had always wanted to go to Anakeesta in Gatlinburg so I put a surprise trip together that Rosa thought was just for her birthday… when we got there, we rode a gondola and I brought Rosa up to the top of the highest tower at Anakeesta. I hired a photographer to sneak around while I told Rosa to look off into the distance so I could take a picture of her. When I told her to turn around, I was on my knee asking her to marry me… We had so much fun that night running around Anakeesta and having a fun photo shoot… it was perfect!

What are the two of you planning on tackling next in life?

Just enjoying every moment and making the most do the crazy life.

What is something unique you incorporated into your wedding/reception?

We pretty much did everything traditional! I would say the only unique thing was how many kids we had there! They sure did light up the room and light up the dance floor!

Do you have any advice for other couples who are planning their own wedding right now?

I would tell other couples to really enjoy every single little thing that you do when planning and on the day of the wedding. It is easy to get bogged down by stress, but you only get the opportunity once and it is over before you know it… If I could go back, I would be more in the moment and slow down a bit to really take everything in.

What has been your favorite part about working with The Silo?

The Silo has just been so amazing. They are so communicative and respond so quickly! We honestly couldn’t believe how affordable the Silo was compared to other venues because it was so beautiful and the management and staff were really on top of everything! On the morning of the wedding, we got a call congratulating us and telling us what to expect when we got to the venue which was SUPER nice and eased my nerves a lot. If I had any questions throughout the planning process, the staff at the Silo was so eager to help and really made me feel like I was being taken care of. If we could do it all over again, I think it’s safe to say that we would choose the Silo again!!!
